MotoGP, Petrucci: "Nervous about trying the Suzuki, it went better than I expected"

Danilo broke the ice in FP1 of the Thailand GP: "I had a lot of fun, I still have to know the GSX-RR but I didn't think I would be so fast right away"

MotoGP: Petrucci:

Danilo Petrucci has broken the ice and, in the first free practice session of the Thailand GP, he got on the Suzuki MotoGP for the first time. It was a completely new bike for the Italian, who has never ridden a prototype with an inline 4-cylinder engine before.

Despite everything, it did not go badly and he didn’t end up by propping up the standings. Petrux put behind him Darryn Binder and Nagashima, the gap from the leaders is just over 2 seconds, but at this moment looking at the stopwatch doesn’t make much sense.

“I'm really happy to have tried the Suzuki GSX-RR. I was very nervous because, you know, this bike is different from all the others I've ridden in the past, but it's so nice that I enjoyed it so much. Actually, I did not expect it to go so well” were the first impressions of the ride from Terni.

He might not have much time to find out all the secrets of the Suzuki, but certainly Danilo will be giving it his all.

"Of course it's all very difficult because the other riders are really fast and I still have to figure out how to ride this bike and adapt my riding style, but I'm really happy and I didn't expect to be so fast right away," he concluded.
