MotoGP, Crutchlow: “my ankle hurts, but the testes ruled out fractures”

“I was leaning too much. It happens when you push on a MotoGP. I have injuries all over my body. I’ll have to wait and understand my condition. It’s too bad because I’m competitive.”

MotoGP: Crutchlow: “my ankle hurts, but the testes ruled out fractures”

Today seemed like a good day for Cal Crutchlow: out by a whiff from top 10 in the morning session, and good speed in the afternoon … until he mounted the new soft tire for the time attack. On that fast lap, his Yamaha threw him, and Cal crashed violently onto the asphalt.

Today was oviously not an ideal day. It ended with an X-ray of my right ankle, which I had broken badly a few years ago,” the WithU team rider explained. “Right now, I’m in severe pain, but the X-ray was negative. It might just be swelling. It seems like it's in a different point than my first fracture. I have to rest, put some ice on my ankle, and see how it goes.

It’s a real shame for Cal, who seemed to be competitive in Buriram.

I felt very good on the bike in the FP1 today, when I was pushing,” he said. “I made only one mistake in the lap, which would've allowed me to enter the top ten. I tried for the time this afternoon. I was pushing because I felt good with the bike. But, unfortunately, my lean angle was too much. That’s what happens when you ride a MotoGP and push. Honestly, I felt good, and I feel that my pace is really good, and I would've been able to fight for a good position this weekend. The problem is that we now have to see the extent of my injuries, because I have some in my elbows, back, and most of my body, but we’ll see. Overall, the team did a good job, and I’m happy with how things are going. It was a shame to fall at the end of the session, but we’ll see what happens tomorrow.
