Miguel Oliveira has been part of the KTM family since 2017, when he raced for them in the Moto2. Before that, he participated in the Rookies Cup and with the Austrian bike in the Moto3 World Championship in 2015. He won 4 races on the RC16 in the MotoGP.

KTM wanted to bid farewell to and wish Oliviera the best for his new adventure with Aprilia.

Francesco Guidotti, Team Manager for the official team, said: “We were lucky to have a rider of Miguel's intelligence, talent, and professionalism on the official team. When we managed to create the right package for him, he demonstrated his class and made an important contribution to the development of the KTM RC16. It’s something we’ll always appreciate. Obrigado, Miguel!

Pit Beirer, Motorsports KTM Director, added: “A big thank you to Miguel for everything he brought to our MotoGP program and for all the strong values he represents. He went through our KTM system but also helped make every step effective and competitive by getting on the podium thirty-six times and winning sixteen  victories for us, four of which were in MotoGP. The victory in Austria in 2020 was simply incredible and only improved by his dominance and excitement in Portugal later in the season. He really showed the young  riders the 'orange way' in the MotoGP. He’s a real pro, a family man, and we’re sure to miss him in the paddock. We wish him all the best for his future in the MotoGP.”
