The final day of the Barcelona tests didn’t go that well for Toprak Razgatlioglu. Shortly after 2:00 pm, the Turkish rider was the victim of a violent highside at Turn 5. According to what our colleagues at Speedweek reported, while shifting gears, the R1 began to slip, and he flew off the bike.
In hitting the asphalt, Toprak severely wounded his left elbow. He was transported to the hospital in Barcelona where doctors decided to operate, giving him six stitches. So, the Barcelona tests ended earlier than expected for the Superbike World Champion.
Toprak confirmed that he’s fine and isn't in pain. Now he'll just need some patience before he can get back on the bike.
