Good news finally arrives from Japan regarding the condition of Gino Rea, who has been in intensive care since the accident at Suzuka. Family members have provided updates via the rider's social profiles, here is what they reported.
"This morning we received good news from the doctors: Gino's condition this morning was stable.
Once the dose of anaesthetic was reduced, he opened his eyes and made eye contact very quickly. At our prompting, he was able to hold our hand.
For his safety they administered sedation that will help him in his recovery.
Elaine, Shannon and Peter visited him today, as did Isaella and I. He opened his eyes for short periods and moved his legs and arms many times.
Everything is progressing in the right direction. Thank you again for all your support".
