MotoGP, Marc Marquez: "Either I was operated on, or I retired, I had no other options"

"My goal is not to come back and win, but to have fun on the bike without feeling pain and being competitive. If I reach it, everything else will come by itself."

MotoGP: Marc Marquez:

We will have to wait a little longer to know when Marc Marquez will be back on the bike, a medical check-up is scheduled at the end of the month and at that moment we will maybe get a better idea of what the timing will be. Meanwhile, the Spanish champion has broken his silence, in recent days he spoke about his condition in an official Honda statement and next weekend he will be at the Red Bull Ring as a spectator.

The Spanish champion also gave an interview to Deportes Cuatro.

Marc seemed optimistic about his recovery: “I have experience of other operations and I am on the right track”.

The fourth operation, which he underwent on 2 June at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, was the only chance for him to continue racing in MotoGP.

"I really wanted to have an operation because either I did it or I retired, there were no other options," he explained. The surgery went well, Marquez has gradually resumed training and the last test will be to get back to riding the Honda.

“My goal is not to come back and win, it's to come back and have fun on the bike - he underlined - Doing it without feeling pain, managing to be competitive. If I reach that, everything else will come by itself”.
