MotoGP: Domenicali thanks Ducati for 1,000+200 podiums: watch the detail!

Ducati continues to grind out successes, and after the 1,000 podiums in Superbike came the 200 in MotoGP. Justifiably, Claudio Domenicali, CEO of the Borgo Panigale-based company celebrated with a post on Linkedin that summed up the Rossa's long journey in a few words.

In the iconic image (in the center, not coincidentally, Casey Stoner) that accompanies the short note are all the riders who made this milestone possible, Carlos Checa included who appears, top right but...wearing the Marlboro-Yamaha team suit!

Congratulations, Claudio, for all the achievements: we take up the Roman custom that reserved for the general in triumph, a man behind him whispering "Respice post te. Hominem te memento" ("Look behind you. Remember you are a man"). And a thousand such successes in MotoGP as well.

"What a fantastic period for “la Rossa a due ruote”! Just one week ago we celebrated 1000 podiums in SBK and with the 1-3 of Pecco and Jack of yesterday in Silverstone we reached 200 podiums in MotoGP! The MotoGP era of Ducati started in 2003, with icons like Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss as riders. Our bike showed immediately to be very strong, and Loris took podium result at first race in Suzuka, what an incredible debut! After 19 years we are still there, showing the commitment and the passion of all Ducati Corse people. And we took first place, but on first 5 bikes at the end we had 4 Ducatis. That would not be possible without an extraordinary commitment of the whole team. Many thanks to all riders that were with us, from Casey to Dovi to Loris and Troy, Jack and Pecco and all the others. Many thanks to Filippo and Gigi, to Livio, Paolo and Davide and all the passionate engineers and mechanics that made this possible. What a fantastic company! Very honored to be serving it. And what a passionate community. We feel everyday the full support of Ducatisti. Many thank for this".
