MotoGP, Bastianini: "I wanted the first two rows, but I have the pace for the race"

“As I only had one tyre in Q2 it was difficult to achieve what was my goal. For the race I have to sort the third sector and I can fight for the win too "

MotoGP: Bastianini:

The glass is to be considered half full, because during Silverstone qualifying, Enea Bastianini first had to get through the stumbling block of Q1 and then take part in the Q2 scrap.

As he only had one tyre available, the Gresini rider achieved the eighth fastest time behind Bezzecchi at +339 thousandths from the top.

“All in all the balance is not bad - he said - I expected to go straight into Q2 this morning, but I struggled. In the afternoon, however, I improved, in fact I managed to be faster, getting closer to the top riders”.

Enea passed the Q1 exam as top of the class.

“I got the best time, but then I had to face Q2 with only one tyre. My goal was to be on the first or second row, but unfortunately I didn't succeed. However, I am quite satisfied with my time”.

Now his head is focussed on Sunday.

“I think I have the pace and we can do well. Unfortunately, I am missing something in T3, or from turns 13 to 15. If I manage to sort this, we can have a good race”.
