MotoGP: First 2023 MotoGP at Portimão

Next year's calendar hasn’t yet been released, but there’s already something new on it. The 2023 World Championship season will, in fact, start from Portugal with the Portimão Grand Prix. Dorna communicated this a few minutes ago.

Something entirely new, given that the opening race has always been in Losail since 2007. Now we’re returning to the past and starting from Europe, which hasn't happened since 2006, when Jerez opened the season.

The Portimão Grand Prix will take place from March 24th to 26th, three weeks later than the start of the season this year. In the weeks to come, Dorna will release a first draft of the 2023 calendar. The reason for this decision is because the Losail circuit is being worked on for Formula 1.
