The Yamaha rider lost control of his R1 while in the lead ahead of Petrux. At minute 3:45 the crash with the bike split into several pieces.

Petrucci will return to MotoAmerica action next Aug. 19-21 at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum. It will be the eighth of 10 rounds on the calendar.
