Even warmer today than yesterday: 36°C in the morning and 50°C  in the afternoon during FP4

There were good track conditions in FP3, with a new all-time circuit lap record and 5 riders running under 1min 20sec. However, the track was much warmer in FP4 and Qualifying which resulted in lower grip levels.

The riders generally concentrated on the race choice, which is between the Medium and Hard at the front, and the same at the rear. The feedback confirms that the Hard front works well on this track and these conditions, with good support under braking. The overall feeling is also good but the level of grip at maximum lean angles is lower compared to the Medium. For the rear it is also the Hard specification which works well because it offers good consistency, and stability superior to the Medium option, which will also a raceable solution due to its high grip levels which help a lot with braking. The riders’ final choices will be confirmed after the warm-up tomorrow morning.
