Moto2: FP3: Salac takes Gresini team to 1st place, Vietti 15th in Q1

Filip Salac got the satisfaction of finishing in 1st place at the third and final round of the Moto2 free practice at the Sachsenring. The Gresini team rider’s time was 1’23”640 at the beginning of the round, and nobody managed to beat him. Aren Canet tried, fell during the first minutes, but then made a comeback: the Spanish rider ended up behind Salac, with two tenths, and preceded Augusto Fernandez.

A 4th time for Bo Bendsneyder ahead of Pedro Acosta, while Albert Arenas is 6th and precedes Joe Roberts, Alonso Lopez (who also fell in the final session), Cameron Beaubier, and Fermin Aldeguer.

There are no Italians in the first 10 positions, and the only one of our riders to enter directly into the Q2 was Lorenzo Dalla Porta, with an 11th time. It’s an uphill Saturday for Celestino Vietti, World Championship leader. He missed the Q2 by 39 thousandths of a second, despite trying to reach the checkered flag. Tony Arbolino did no better, in 17th, while Corsi (23rd), Antonelli (25th), and Zaccone (27th) are worse off.
