MotoGP, Spanish 4x4 Aprilia: the targets are Rins and Fernandez

The two RS-GPs of Razali's RNF team are still free and the two most likely candidates are Alex, orphan of Suzuki, and Raul, who wants to leave KTM

MotoGP: Spanish 4x4 Aprilia: the targets are Rins and Fernandez

Aprilia next year, for the first time since its entry into MotoGP, will have 4 bikes on the track. The satellite team will be Razlan Razali's WithU RNF, with whom a three-year agreement was recently announced. All that remains to do now is find two riders to entrust with the same number of RS-GPs that are still free.

For the official team, the situation is signed, sealed and delivered until 2024, with Aleix Espargarò and Maverick Vinales announcing their renewal at the Mugello GP. For the satellite team, on the other hand, negotiations are underway, and of course the choice of riders is up to Noale.

At the moment, next year we could see Aprilia with all Spanish riders. In fact, all eyes are on Alex Rins and Raul Fernandez.

The former has also been tempted by Ducati and would have found a place in the Gresini team, on the bike vacated by Bastianini (he will discover in the summer if he wears the colours of the official team or of the Pramac team from 2023) but it seems that that place will be taken by Oliveira. If Miguel has not signed yet, we are close and so the Aprilia path is clear for Rins.

On the other hand there is Raul Fernandez, very young and talented, but at loggerheads with KTM. Last year he already expressed his concerns about the move to MotoGP in the Tech3 team and the disappointing results this year certainly have not helped him to change his mind. If anything, what he wants is to change bikes and Aprilia is an excellent option for him and also for the manufacturer, which would help him to grow internally using Razali's squad as a junior team.

So we might see a Spanish-powered four-wheel drive Aprilia, and so we will have to wait a little longer for an Italian rider/bike pairing.
