MotoGP, Marquez: "I know that by working we can return to our potential"

Mugello is the next testing ground for Honda. Marc: "Fantastic feeling to ride there." Pol Espargarò: "I hope for a linear weekend."

MotoGP: Marquez:

This is no time for a pre-race proclamation for Marc Marquez and Honda. The moment is difficult for both, and the results are hard to come, so much so that the Spanish champion still hasn’t reached a podium this season. Mugello is a completely different track than Le Mans, where the last Grand Prix took place and, first of all, they’ll need to figure out the new RC213V.

Marquez prefers to keep his feet on the ground and hope that the Italian weekend will be sweeter than the French one.

"It’s always very nice to ride at Mugello. It’s a very fast circuit and, when you push on the straight with a MotoGP, the feeling is fantastic,” he said. “We’ll see what we’ll be able to do this weekend. We have get there and see what the situation is and where we are. I know that by continuing to work with my team, with Honda, we can return to what we know to be our potential."

Pol Espargarò is also struggling and looks to the GPs in Italy and Barcelona (scheduled for next week) as an opportunity to get back on his feet.

"Last year, at Mugello, we had a somewhat difficult race. So I hope that the Italian GP will be more linear this year,” he crossed his fingers. “I continued to train at home to be ready. In France, we haven’t managed to achieve what we wanted, so the goal is to do it again in Italy, of course. We have two races and a test in two weeks. We’ll spend a lot of time on the bike, which is good. We need to get to work."
