News: Valentino Rossi goes virtual with VR46 Metaverse

Valentino Rossi, along with the media holding, The Hundred, marks a new stage in the development of the VR46, with the aim of offering innovative content and immersive virtual experiences to motorsports fans worldwide.

The nine-time winner lands on the web3, creating a company dedicated to designing and developing unique content for the VR46 brand in the Metaverse, in gaming, and in the world of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens).

VR46 Metaverse was born from a joint venture with The Hundred, an Italian media holding that will provide its know-how in the sector, in order to develop virtual experiences dedicated to Valentino Rossi’s fans worldwide, as well motorsports fans and video players, in general. The joint venture that led to the creation of VR46 Metaverse was promoted by Nicola Volpi, lead investor in The Hundred.

"Entering this sector is a really stimulating adventure that I decided to tackle in a structured way along with top-level partners,Valentino Rossi said. “I’m excited to be able to reach fans around the world, bringing them the atmosphere and enthusiasm of the VR46 through new technologies. I think this project marks a very important step for the brand."

The project includes a multi-year roadmap, developing content in continuous evolution within Metaverses and ensuring constant support in the years to come. The aim of the VR46 Metaverse is to recreate, within persistent virtual worlds, a global platform dedicated to the Doctor, the VR46 Racing Team, and the Academy. The "Yellow People" and motorsport fans will be able to live their virtual entertainment experiences by meeting riders, interacting with other users, and even competing with each other.

Jean Claude Ghinozzi, CEO of the VR46 Metaverse and partner of The Hundred, commented: "I’m pleased to develop this project that will, for the first time, bring an international icon like Valentino Rossi into the metaverse, and I’m sure that he’ll be able to revolutionize this world, as he has already done with motorcycling." Ghinozzia will lead the joint venture between VR46 and The Hundred, playing a key role in content development and the involvement of international partners.

The first contents, developed by the new company, are expected as early as 2022 and will immediately be able to immersively and actively involve both Valentino Rossi’s historical fans and the new audience generated by the growth of these new technologies. According to the Gartner analysts, 25% of the world's population will spend at least one hour a day in the Metaverse by 2025, exploring new interests and new social, recreational, educational, and shopping opportunities.
