"I had to experience both sides of the sport. The success side and  the injury side and, therefore, the path to overcoming them. During the good years, there was pressure, but I handled it well. Now, it's a different pressure, because everyone expects you to come back, but there's no need to be in a hurry. You can’t talk about many things. You have to manage them and move forward little by little,” Márquez said in an interview with the organizers of the María de Villota and Ciudad de la Raqueta awards, reported by AS, where he received the Sports Achievement award.

The eight-time World Champion added: “My future is marked by the challenge to return to fight for the world championship. This year was and remains the goal or the dream, but I must be realistic. We’re improving and making progress. The important thing is motivation. Every day is a challenge, and now the challenge is to overcome these two years of injuries, overcome these moments and go back to competing for everything,” he explained.

Marquez also talked about his beginnings in the queen class.
In 2013, I had the privilege of learning from riders like Rossi, Lorenzo or Pedrosa. Now it’s the opposite. Young people come up and do new things. We veterans also learn from them."

When asked about his future, and if he thinks he can have a long career like Valentino Rossi, Marc specified: "A lot depends on your mind, but also on the situation at a given time, on injuries, on having a good medical team around you, or on motivation. There are many factors. Our sport has changed a lot in technology, in circuit safety, and in the world of communication. Everything is going faster and faster. Motorcycling is not a sport for two, but for three. The bike, the team, and the rider."

Then he added: "What’s clear to me is that, fortunately, the fundamental difference is still made by the rider, but it’s clear that, if the bike doesn’t go, you can fight for a race at a given time, but not for a world championship."
