MotoGP: Michelin: soft rear tire will be the majority choice

Here is Michelin's analysis regarding the choice of tires for the Austin GP.

"Today the teams and riders focused on fine-tuning the bike settings and deciding on the rear tyre for the race. The front tyre choice for the race is already clear, and that will be the Hard option.

The Soft front worked very well in FP3 when the track temperature was relatively low due to the good feedback and grip levels that it offered. It was also used in the afternoon Qualifying sessions by a couple of riders. The Hard front was good, and with the consistent grip and good support/stability it will almost certainly be the unanimous choice for tomorrow's race.
The Soft rear gave a consistently high level of grip and is superior to the Medium for most riders. As a result, the Soft is likely to be the majority choice for the race. The Medium rear could be a race option for motorcycles that are more sensitive to set-up because it is more stable and more progressive.

The fast lap times were apparent today, with two riders breaking the all-time circuit lap record, which was set in 2015"
