From a certain point of view Quartararo might actually be satisfied, because tomorrow on the grid he will be the first of the riders who are not on a Ducati. The 6th fastest time, however, cannot make him completely happy, especially after a crash in his first exit when he was improving.
“I tried to do my best - he explained - I knew that, to have a good race tomorrow, today I would have to push 100% and I crashed. In my second exit I tried to give my best, but made many mistakes in the first sector, even if I improved in the third and fourth. When the temperatures rise, we struggle more with the grip and I had to go over the limit. I did my best and I have nothing to add, these things happen ”.
Starting with 5 Desmosedicis in front does not seem to be the best possible situation, but the Frenchman from Yamaha is not giving up.
"I prefer to have 5 Ducatis than 5 different bikes – was his opinion - In the end it's not a big problem, everyone is fast, we'll see how it goes but I think I'll have to give my all from the start."
What sort of race could it be?
“I don't want to think about limiting the damage - Fabio replied - Many riders have a fast pace, including the two Aprilias, luckily they didn't make it to Q2. For me the favorites are Marquez and Bastianini, Enea's time in the third sector with used tires is like mine in the flying lap. I will struggle a lot on the back straight, that's for sure ”.
It remains to be seen if he can at least aim for the podium.
"As I said, Enea and Marc have the best pace, Martin is fast too, Bagnaia a little less but still has a good pace. We are not bad for tire wear, even if we are not the best. We will see what I can do, I have no particular goal, other than trying to have a good race and have fun ”.
