It’s been all an uphill climb for Andrea Dovizioso in Yamaha. Adapting to the M1 isn’t easy for the rider from Forlì, who was used to riding a Ducati with characteristics that are totally different than the Yamaha. And even 2022 didn’t start out well for him. In Qatar, he had to settle for a 14th place, while he was forced to stop due to electrical problems after a handful of laps in Mandalika, although his performance in wet conditions were more convincing.

Now Termas de Rio Hondo awaits him, and Dovi wants to be ready.

"After the sad result in Indonesia, I really want to get back on the bike and do better," he said."We had the ability to do good things but, in the end, we didn't get the chance. Termas de Rio Hondo is a rather unique track. We haven’t been there for two years, so I’m curious to know what the conditions will be. We’re going there optimistic. I think it could be a good circuit for the Yamaha."

On the other hand, teammate Darryn Binder arrived in Argentina enthusiastic and with an excellent 10th place he achieved under the rain in Mandalika. A good result for a rookie who went directly from the Moto3 to the MotoGP.

"I'm really excited to go to Argentina,”  the South African rider admitted. “We haven’t been to Termas de Rio Hondo for a couple of years. I have good memories of the last time, so I can't wait, especially after the 10th place in Indonesia made me very happy and motivated. I’m ready to start again from scratch, to continue to make progress, and to try to improve and become faster."
