MotoGP, Alex Marquez: "The rain could be a gift for us"

"It’ll be a survival race, where it’ll be difficult to pass and easy to make mistakes. It’ll be difficult for everyone to keep the temperature and pressure of the front tire low."

MotoGP: Alex Marquez:

Alex Marquez is expecting an uphill race, starting from a 19th position. All the Honda riders got through the Q1, but none of them got what they were expecting.

"As we saw in Qatar, we had problems at mid-corner. We can't get the bike to ride well. Everyone has the same problem, but we can't adapt the bike to this tire. That means there's a lot of work to be done, but we're only in the second race, and we can't give up. We have to continue to remain positive, even if tomorrow will be a survival race, where  it’ll be difficult to pass and easy to make mistakes. A very long race. We need to look ahead and try to get to Argentina and Texas with a better feeling."

The tires seem to be a problem for everyone. What do you think the bike lacks to have the pace of those in front?

Nice question,” he said laughing. “It's always hard to figure out what's missing. We lack the feeling in the front, but I think the choice of the tire will be important tomorrow, especially the front, because it will be very hot and the temperature of the tire will rise a lot. It’ll be difficult for everyone to keep the temperature and pressure of the front tire low. We must also be prepared for rain because you never know what can happen here. It  could be a nice surprise for us but, right now, thinking about it doesn’t make sense. We have to focus, try to have a good feeling, and enjoy the race."
