MotoGP, Bastianini: "I feel like the Ducati is mine and my relationship with the team is incredible"

Gresini Racing is ready to start its new adventure in the MotoGP. Di Giannantonio: "I’m really psyched. My goal is getting points in Qatar."

MotoGP: Bastianini:

The Qatar race is going to be special for the Gresini team. After having raced in recent years alongside Aprilia, the team founded by Fausto is returning as an an independent team, to all intents and purposes. Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio will be inaugurating this new adventure. Two riders who debuted in the World Championship with the team from Faenza.

They have lots of hope and two blue Ducatis. Preparations for Losail began in November with tests in Jerez that continued in February in Malaysia and Indonesia. But now it’s their time to get serious and, of course, all eyes are on Bastianini, who seemed promising in 2021, the year he  debuted  in the MotoGP.

The Beast from Rimini is optimistic: "I must say that we’re very ready for this appointment. The tests went really well, and my relationship with the team is really incredible,”  he said. “Qatar is a track that I really like. Come on, I already did pretty well last year at my debut with a MotoGP,” he said jokingly. “Now we have more experience so, less words and more track! Physically, I prepared really well, and I already felt  like the bike was mine from the first day in Malaysia."

It’ll be a baptism for Di Giannantonio, and there’s always a lot of emotion in these cases.

First race of the year and first race in the MotoGP... we’re going there with an incredible charge,” he said. “We really want to  get on the track, also considering the tests where, at each exit, we really progressed, both with the bike and with the team. I have to admit that I’m coming from a complicated month on a physical level, with some problems that I dragged from Malaysia onwards. But, in the past few days, I’ve had the opportunity to work well, and we’ll arrive prepared. The real goal is to continue adapting and developing, an optimistic goal to get the first points right away!"
