The VR46 team’s adventure at the Gulf 12 Hours race has ended up with a podium. It was an unexpected result because at the end of the first part of the race the crew made up of Luca Marini, Alessio Salucci and David Fumanelli was only in 5th place overall, 4th in the Pro-Am category.

However, as darkness fell, the team found the right rhythm, managing to finish the race at the Yas Marina circuit in 3rd place overall and 2nd in class.

The Abu Dhabi race, by regulation, takes place over two heats of 6 hours each. At the restart Uccio, who had finished the first part in a downward trend, managed to change pace and make a couple of good overtakes. Marini, on the other hand, did not stand out for sheer speed but was very consistent. The rest was done by Fumanelli, protagonist of the day, who constantly lapped on the times of the best.

As often happens in endurance races, the favoured team in Pro-Am after the first 6 Hours, 2 Seas Motorsport was the protagonist of an unexpected event. The bottom of the Mercedes came off and the team lost a lot of time replacing it.

In any case, the 2 Seas Motorsport team won, with the crew entered in the Pro category, followed by SPS Automotive Performance, 2nd overall and first in Pro-Am. Third was the VR46 team, just 22 seconds away from second place, with the satisfaction of being the best Ferrari at the finish.
