The absence of Marc Marquez in Valencia and at the Jerez tests weighs heavily, with Honda having to do without its spearhead rider not so much for this race, but for the development of the new bike. The Spanish champion is suffering from diplopia again after his training accident on an enduro bike.

"Unfortunately these things happen and now we can only wait - explained team manager Alberto Puig - Everyone knows his worth and his potential, there is no need to explain it. We will continue to work on the new bike and when he gets back in shape, we will let him test the best material possible ”.

As to the timing of his recovery, Puig does not want to make any assumptions.

"The injury is similar to the one he suffered in 2011 at Sepang, when he was racing in Moto2. It is not just a bone and that makes the situation more complicated and delicate - he continued - We just have to stay calm and see how things will evolve. It's not easy to know what a nerve reaction might be, but the doctors are positive and told us to be patient. When a bone breaks, you put on a plate and start racing again. For my part, I feel confident after talking to the doctors, plus Marc is an intelligent person and he understands that we just have to wait ”.
