McLaren driver Lando Norris is a huge Valentino Rossi fan, and he's never hidden it. In 2019, for the Monza Grand Prix, he paid homage to his idol with a helmet inspired by the Doctor's graphics.

But it wasn’t the first time that Lando drew inspiration from Valentino. In 2009, during his first season in karting, the British driver colored his helmet with Rossi in mind.

He revealed it himself in the video above.

It was 2009, my first season in karts, and it was my first custom helmet,” he explained. “I used the same colors as the kart I was driving. Orange and black. The inspiration for the graphics naturally came from Valentino Rossi. I've always been fond of him. I copied his sun using my colors, and it’s still one of my favorite helmets.”
