Silverstone fans will not have to wait as long for the next MotoGP at the iconic British circuit. The 2022 British MotoGP round will move to an earlier date in August with confirmation of the race happening from August 5 to 7 next year. The new date has been agreed in cooperation with series owners Dorna, in order to fit in with their 2022 revised calendar they are currently finalising.

Silverstone Managing Director Stuart Pringle said: “We are excited to announce the new date as part of our long-term commitment to two-wheel racing at Silverstone. We want everyone to experience the highest level of motorcycle racing in the UK and we are investing a huge amount of time, money and resource into making Silverstone as good as it can be for MotoGP and our fans. We also want all of those who are attending Silverstone this year to return and we are fully focused on attracting a new wave of fans who can enjoy a memorable weekend of racing and entertainment.”

“As we all know, Silverstone is a legendary and iconic racetrack. We’re happy to return to the venue earlier in the summer in 2022 to give us the best chance to enjoy its incredible layout and speed in the best possible weather. We’ve seen some incredible races here and I look forward to seeing many more”, commented Carmelo Ezpeleta, Dorna CEO.
