MotoGP, Marquez: "Now I am not enjoying it, now I am suffering.”

MotoGP: Marquez:

Marc Marquez is currently facing the toughest challenge of his career: getting back to normal. Last year's Jerez crash was terrible, as was the impact on his physique. The victory at Sachsenring helped him, but the Spanish champion knows it will still take time to get back to his previous level and that's the only thing he wants.

“My motivation is higher than before because it is the first time that I have a very hard moment in my career,” he explained in an interview with UK daily newspaper The Guardian.

This does not mean that he is not suffering.

“In the hard moments you need to show your potential. In the good moments everybody is happy and smiling and quick, in the hard moments you need to fight,” said Marc. “The easiest way would be to stop and come back when I feel ready in one or two years. But that’s not my style. My style is to try to suffer to improve and come back. And to enjoy it on the bike. Now I am not enjoying it, now I am suffering.”

There is still a long way to go, but perhaps the worst is over. Marquez recalled his fears a year ago.

“I was afraid I would not have a normal arm,” he continued. “There was one point in October-November when I was not able to take a bottle of water, I was straining to eat, I was not able to move the arm in a normal way. I was afraid.”
