Youngest MotoGP podiums: Martin, Mir and Quartararo beaten by Stoner & Co.

MotoGP is currently undergoing a generational change, which began a couple of years ago. Last Sunday at the Red Bull Ring, the oldest (so to speak) on the podium was Joan Mir, who has not yet turned 24 (he will do so on September 1st). A few months younger than him was the winner Jorge Martin, while Fabio Quartararo is 22 years old (and 110 days to be precise).

Calculator in hand, the average age of the riders on the podium was 23.27 years. Low, but not enough to make it into the record books. Indeed, first place seems to be in safe hands and dates back to 2008. In that season, in Qatar, Casey Stoner won ahead of Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa: the average age in that case was 21.91 years.

Last Sunday's podium is only in 8th place in this special ranking.
