After returning from his summer break, Pecco Bagnaia seems full of energy and confidence, but he is also aware that beating Quartararo and getting back close to him in the standings will not be an easy task, despite the fact that two GPs at the Red Bull Ring should work in his favour. The Italian has clear ideas about what he must do, but his only doubt, if anything, concerns Valentino. Rossi has announced a special press conference for the afternoon and everyone is wondering what the announcement will be.
"Honestly, I know as much as you do - Pecco spread his arms - I read about the conference this morning, I wasn't aware of it like, I think, the other Academy riders. It was a surprise, we will find out what he will decide, but every choice will be the right one ”.
While we won’t have long to wait to know Valentino's future, only on Sunday we will see what cards Pecco has to play.
"In the end I simply have to finish in front of Fabio more times than he will finish in front of me – he said - I expect that the work done in this break, both analysing the previous races and in the gym, will be a help in the second part of the season. I know what I have to do, I hope to start having already taken a step forward. In recent weeks Ducati has worked a lot and I chose not to go on vacation to improve”.
The Red Bull Ring is the right track to demonstrate it.
"From now on we can talk about the championship and I know that these two races will be fundamental for me to make up points - said Bagnaia - We have an advantage on this track, unlike Yamaha, which however has proved to be competitive this year even on tracks that are usually difficult. But it's not just us who will be fast, KTM and Honda will be very strong. My goal is to get the best possible result by finishing ahead of Quartararo ”.
Speaking of KTM, Pedrosa will also be on the track.
“And I expect him to be very fast - Pecco assured - he will be a bit of a bulldog, because on this track he has created grooves here. But I have to focus more on the riders who race throughout the championship ”.
He aims to catch up with Quartararo, hoping that no other GPs will be cancelled in this last part of the season.
“We will do what they tell us and we will do it as best we can, I will try to be fast and consistent. I am more than 40 points behind Fabio, it’s a lot, but I will try to do everything and more to make them up. Let's hope there’ll be enough time! ”.
