Gigi Dall'Igna is undoubtedly preparing to face a very intense period of his project linked to Ducati in MotoGP. The engineer/father of the modern Desmosedici in 2022 will have eight of his creatures on the track and this season he is enjoying the splendid performances of Jack Miller, Pecco Bagnaia and Johann Zarco, who are in fact fighting for the title thanks to victories and podiums.

On the eve of the Sachsenring round, he gave us an exclusive interview in which we were able to talk about the present and above all the future, also in view of the ‘young line’ chosen by Ducati, which is also paying off in SBK with Rinaldi's victories at Misano on the Panigale V4R. This is an excerpt from the full interview that you can enjoy starting at 9pm on our YouTube channel.

The first topic is linked to the future and to those eight Desmosedici that will be on track in 2022…

“We managed eight bikes in the past in MotoGP with the official Team, Aspar, Avintia and Pramac, in fact it is nothing new for us - began Dall'Igna - we have the skills and the ability to do it. From an organizational point of view, it will be complicated, but from a technical point of view it will be an advantage to have more strong riders on the track, given that working on a statistical basis is important”.

We then spoke about SBK and MotoGP and how difficult but stimulating it is to follow both at the highest level…

“SBK is a great championship, both to see and to participate in, given that the development of the production bike offers important stimuli, in fact Ducati is working in this sense. Working on prototypes is a different technological development compared to what is done on a production-based road-bike, given that in GP you start from a blank sheet, while with road bikes from an already existing base. In MotoGP there is in fact a technical inventiveness compared to SBK. In the future, given that the market dictates the law, I wouldn't be surprised to see Streetfighters in action”.

This year Ducati has a real trident on the field, with Zarco-Bagnaia-Miller. These are the words of Dall'Igna about the three riders...

“Pecco had an unlucky race at Mugello, while in Barcelona he didn't shine very much, even though I'm happy with him. In this moment all three have the possibility to bring home the maximum result, then at the end of the year we will see what the situation is. In fact, it is better to think race by race ".

HERE IS THE FULL INTERVIEW THAT WILL BE PUBLISHED AT 9.00 PM!
