While training yesterday on his bicycle at the Barcelona circuit, Alex Rins got distracted and crashed into a parked car. He was taken to the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona where he was diagnosed with a trans-styloid intra-articular fracture of the distal radius of his right arm. In order to speed up his recovery, he underwent surgery this morning, which went well.

Dr. Xavier Mir, head of the Hand, Elbow, and Microsurgery Unit, took stock of the situation: "Today Alex Rins underwent a minimally invasive operation with cannulated compression screws. If there are no complications, I think he will be able to start functional rehab next Monday. "We do not rule out the possibility that he will be able to race at the Sachsenring within two weeks."
