MotoGP, Bastianini said he was lucky his airbag exploded at Mugello after warmup lap incident

What Enea Bastianini has on his mind more than anything else for the next race at Barcelona is to make amends for the last one, seeing as he virtually never even started it. Mugello in fact left a bitter aftertaste for the Avintia rider, who ended up on the ground on the warmup lap, so much so that he was forced to throw in the towel.

It was an episode that gave a lot of displeasure to the Italian, whose GP destiny was written even before the lights went out…

"About the last race I wanted to say something - he began - it was a very complicated Sunday, where some rumours about Alpinestars began to circulate. It is true that I started with my race leathers discharged and I was worried. Fortunately I crashed on the first lap and the airbag exploded normally".

His mind is now focused on Barcelona…

"Barcelona is a track I like a lot and we have to find the right balance on Friday to make everything simpler and maybe be able to go straight to Q2 without making too much effort as usual. There seems to be a risk of rain so we'll see what to expect "
