MotoGP: Enea Bastianini confirms his Ducati future but has no news for the moment

Two years later, MotoGP returns to the gorgeous Tuscany track for the Italian Grand Prix. From tomorrow morning's FP1, Enea Bastianini will be on track for the first time in the premier class in his home GP. The Ducati rider was very excited even at the idea of being able to ride his Ducati at Mugello and his goal, in addition to being fast, is to enjoy the track and the entire race weekend.

"Mugello is one of my favourite tracks and it is also very close to my home - were Enea's first words describing his emotions on the eve of the Italian Grand Prix - It's fantastic for me to be here on a MotoGP bike. This day seems endless, I can't wait to ride my Ducati on this track. I'm waiting for tomorrow to arrive! ”.

What are you most anxious about, or most excited about? Is there something that scares you about this track or do you just feel positive excitement?

“I am very positive for this weekend and also regards trying the Ducati here at Mugello. I think it's amazing and fantastic. Tomorrow the goal is to be fast but I also want to enjoy it. "

The last race was not easy in terms of performance because you started 14th and didn't finish. What do you think of the set-up of the bike and what ideas do you have for this GP?

"The set-up is very similar in all races but every time I arrive on a new track with the MotoGP bike I always feel a lot of movement on it and with the team we focus on changing the set-up. Towards the end of the weekend I always find myself with the bike very similar to how it was during FP1. This weekend I don't want to change anything and I will have to be able to adapt to the situation. In my opinion, the set-up now on the bike is very good, and I can be competitive. "

Do you know anything about what's going on between VR46, Ducati, Yamaha and Avintia? Do you have any news about your future in 2022?

“No, for the moment I have no news. Gresini and also VR46 are very close to an agreement with Ducati. I think my future will be to continue with Ducati next year as well. We'll see".
