SBK: THE INCIDENT After the error Gerloff in prayer by Rea: apology accepted

The image is grainy because taken from TV, waiting for a nice picture, but the moment is beautiful, because it is everything that sport is and should always be, competition with fair play: Garrett Gerloff apologizes in the parc fermé to Jonathan Rea with folded hands.

The race incident for which the American, two-time champion of Supersport in MotoAmerica in 2016 and 2017, occurred on lap 3, when the Yamaha rider, entered too hard on braking, took the six-time world champion off the track.

Rea, with great coolness, raised the bike again, avoiding the fall, while Garrett ended up on the ground, then resuming the race to finish in 7h position.

With folded hands, almost in prayer, the American athlete apologized several times to Jonathan who accepted the apology, calling him 'mate', and asking him in what position he had finished, also hinting at surprise when Gerloff told him the position.

It would seem obvious to praise this moment, but it is not so: bravo to Garrett Gerloff and bravo to Jonathan Rea. This is Superbike.
