Home atmosphere usually has a good effect on riders and the fresh Le Mans air seemed to work particularly well on both Zarco and Quartararo. Johann won the all-French derby today placing himself in front of his compatriot in FP2, by just 95 thousandths. The Pramac rider had to tackle conditions that were not at all simple, but he managed in the best way possible.

“I can say that it was a good day - he began his report - In the morning the track was wet but then it dried, these are conditions that I like and they helped me to gain confidence on the bike and the right benchmarks. It was a perfect warm-up for the afternoon ”.

When Zarco did not do anything wrong…

"FP2 was perhaps the only dry session we will have this weekend - he observed with a look at the sky - I have always improved my times and my sensations, since the first exit, and this made me happy. I'm happy with my time: to be fast on this short track, you need to be comfortable on the bike and the step forward I took today will help me if we find the dry. I know there will be complicated conditions throughout the weekend, but the first goal was to get into Q2 and I have done that. "

Taking a look at the standings also in this GP it could be a fight between Ducati and Yamaha, and Johann is keeping an eye on Quartararo above all.

"We know that Yamaha is fast in the dry and Fabio's time was quite impressive - said Zarco - He has the ability to be fast in the dry immediately and if there are those conditions in the race, we must be careful and not let him get away, like in Jerez. Then, from the middle of the race on, I think things are more balanced ”.

At Le Mans, in addition to being fast, you also need to be careful not to make mistakes because many riders (in all categories) tasted the asphalt…

"I think it is due to the fact that this weekend is the first in which we have found cold – was the Ducati rider's opinion - We have forgotten how surprising these conditions can be, you have to be very careful, but it is not easy when you also have to be fast ”.
