As on every Saturday evening, Carlo Pernat spent an hour in the company of the readers of GPOne live on our Facebook and YouTube channels. It was an opportunity to talk about what has been happening in the week that has just ended but also to look to the future and to the new season that will start in a month’s time with testing in Qatar.

One of the most curious topics will be seeing how Valentino Rossi and Franco Morbidelli share the same box with Petronas team colours. Is there a risk of sparks flying between the two?

"It will all depend on how smart Valentino is, and he is smart – was the opinion of the manager from Genoa - It is clear that a rider just over twenty years of age like Franco absolutely wants to win and if Rossi gets in the way, there will be a bit of a mess, but I don't think there will be. He will treat him as a rival on the track, but it won’t be an easy situation to manage because with Valentino close by there is always tension and this is normal. "

Pernat also spoke about the Avintia team, which presented its two riders on Friday: Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini.

"It's a pairing born at the last moment, in mid-October, and they are two strong riders, two great realities. Ducati is focusing on young guys, as KTM did ”.

Carlo also comment once again on the situation of Aprilia, which finds itself without a test rider after Bradley Smith's farewell.

“Aprilia will officially announce Savadori as second rider, a good choice, but the testing role still remains empty - he observed - I suggested Alex De Angelis last week, today I'll make the name of Matteo Ferrari. They should have convinced Dovizioso, Andrea was too good an opportunity to miss, for them it was the opportunity of a lifetime and to take it would have cost a lot ".

Once again Pernat clarified the situation with Marquez…

"The original sin was the OK from management to allow him to try and race at Jerez. Now it is easy to say that we would not have let him race, but when there is an esteemed doctor who says it can be done then the rider will race".
