The 36-year-old Spanish rider fell ill while training on a mountain bike. He had raced in the 250 World Championship before moving on to the Endurance.

SBK: Mourning Arturo Tizón’s death in Endurance

36-year-old Arturo Tizón died Saturday, January 16th during a mountain bike ride. The Spanish rider had made his mark in the World Endurance Championship with Folch Endurance, National Motos, and FCC TSR Honda France, among others.

Arturo Tizón fell ill and died during a mountain bike training session with friends north of Valencia. Emergency services arrived quickly but failed to revive him.

The Spanish rider, Spanish Supersport champion in 2005 and GP 250 rider in 2006 and 2007, subsequently developed a passion for the endurance world championship. He finished 5th in the Bol d’Or 2012 with the Spanish team Folch Endurance, 6th in the Bol d’Or 2014 with National Motos, and 5th in the Lviv 24 Hours 2017 with FCC TSR Honda France. He also rode the Kawasaki of the Spanish team, Catala. In the last Bol d’Or in 2019.
