The weekend of the Gulf 12 Hours ended with a podium for Valentino Rossi, Luca Marini, and Alessio “Uccio” Salucci with the Ferrari 488 GT3 of the Kessel Racing team. They team achieved a 3rd place in the  GT3 Pro-Am class and a 4th in the overall classification.

It wasn’t an easy race. Starting from 8th place, the Doctor and his team managed to get on to the podium on the Bahrain track.

It was a beautiful day. We had fun and, in the end, we managed to get on the podium,”  Valentino said.  “We’re happy because the cars were all very fast. As usual, we were more competitive in the second part of the race, the night one. It was great to race with Uccio and Luca, who were very fast, and to work with all the guys on the team.

They had already participated in the same race last year. Luca Marini was also enthusiastic about this encore: “It was a fantastic experience. I had a great time. In the first six hours, unfortunately, we had a drive through, so we lost thirty seconds, and we had to start with a lap behind our rivals in the second six hours. In the last part of the race, with lower temperatures, the car worked very well, and I had a lot of fun driving it and finishing our race. It’s a third place that’s worth a lot, and I can’t wait to do this race again if possible.

Alessio Salucci was also satisfied: “It was a special day. We managed to get on the podium and take the cup home. It was a difficult race. We suffered during the first six hours because of the high temperatures. Plus, I made a mistake and paid with a drive through. But we were very fast in the second part of the race and managed to recover and make the podium. For me, it was a great satisfaction to have shared the garage with Vale, Luca, and all the Kessel guys in this race. It was a wonderful experience.”
