The Gresini team confirmed its presence in the MotoGP until 2026. The team led by Fausto Gresini signed a 5-year agreement with IRTA, so stay tuned for some changes. In fact, starting in 2022, it’ll no longer represent Aprilia but will be an independent team and, in the next few months, we’ll find out which bike it’ll be racing with.
Present in the top category since 1997, Gresini Racing is undoubtedly one of the longest-racing teams in history with a respectable record: 41 podiums, 14 victories, and three vice-world champion titles. It currently participated in all classes of the World Championship, including MotoE.
“We’re happy to announce this agreement with IRTA which will put us in the MotoGP for five years starting in 2022,” Fausto Gresini announced. “We’ll no longer represent the official Aprilia. We’ll continue our journey as an independent team, and we’ll do it with the same desire and dedication. There’s a lot of work to do, and lots of things to define and communicate. Of course, we’re already working on this huge project, and we’ll reveal all the details a bit at a time. Stay tuned.”
