Portimao is the farewell GP for many riders, not only for those who are retiring, but also for those who are changing teams, like Jack Miller who'll be taking off his Pramac jacket tomorrow evening to don the official Ducati team one. As is customary in these cases, there’s no better way to say goodbye than a good result, and that’s exactly what the Aussie rider is thinking about.

I felt good right away on this track,” he explained. “I'would have liked to get a pole, but the front row is still fine. It makes everything easier on Sunday. I feel confident for tomorrow, but I also know that many have a good pace. I’m just worried about the tire drop at the end of the race. That’s something I’d like to avoid.”

Tomorrow will also be an important day for Ducati, with the constructors title still at stake. In this special classification, Ducati has the same points as Suzuki.

I know that title is important for Ducati, but if I have the chance to win, why not try for it,” he clarified. “I wouldn’t settle for a second place, thinking about the constructors title. I’d like a victory for Pramac.”

Jack is also aware that Portimao hides many pitfalls, especially when overtaking.

This morning, I tried to overtake Pecco at the first corner,” he said. “I succeeded, but then I was hit by the wind that pushed me out. The first laps will be very interesting, because there are several corners where you have to leave the door open, and someone can get in front and then block you. We’ll have to be careful, and it can end up like in Austria, where Oliveira was smarter than me and Pol at the last corner.
