At the Teruel GP, Franco Morbidelli won for the second time in the premier class along with the San Marino GP. With his win, Franco Morbidelli became the second rider who has won more than once since opening race in Spain, along with his teammate Fabio Quartararo (3 wins).

Morbidelli became the second non-Spanish rider to win in MotoGP at MotorLand Aragon along with Casey Stoner (2010 and 2011).This is Yamaha’s third win at the track along with Jorge Lorenzo’s victories in 2014 and 2015.

In addition, this is Yamaha’s sixth win in the 11 opening races, which is the first time the Japanese manufacturer has taken six (or more) wins in the opening 11 premier class races since 2015 (eight wins in the opening 11).

Joan Mir crossed the line in third place for his sixth podium finish in MotoGP, all of them achieved this season. In addition, this is his 26th podium overall in his career in GP racing.

With Alex Rins and Joan Mir, this is the first time there are two Suzukis on the podium in back-to-back premier class races since 1981 when Suzuki riders did it in four successive races from Belgium to Finland.

Joan Mir is leading the MotoGP Championship with 137 points, the lowest score for a Championship leader after the opening 11 races of a premier class season since the current scoring system was introduced in 1993.

Mir is 79 points ahead of Valentino Rossi in 15th, who missed both races at Aragon. This is the closest top 15 after the opening 11races of a premier class season since the current scoring system was introduced in 1993.

14 riders are still (mathematically) in contention for the MotoGP title, which is this highest number with three premier class races to go since the current scoring system was introduced in 1993.

From 1993 to 2019, the highest number of riders still in contention with three premier class races to go was in 2006 with five: Nicky Hayden, Valentino Rossi, Marco Melandri, Dani Pedrosa and Loris Capirossi.

Yamaha head to the European GP with a 37-point lead over Ducati in the Constructors World Championship and could clinch the title in Valencia/1 if the first Yamaha across the line scores more than 13 points more than the first Ducati, five more than the first Suzuki and doesn’t concede more than 15 points to the first KTM.

Honda have not won any of the first 11 MotoGP races this season. This is the first time there is no Honda win in at least one of the first ten (or more) races in the premier class since Honda returned to the class in 1982.

With Cal Crutchlow finishing 11th at the Teruel GP, this is the first time there is no Honda within the top ten since the 1982 French GP (although the race was boycotted by top riders for safety concerns).

With polesitter Takaaki Nakagami crashing out on the opening lap at the Teruel GP, none of the riders have scored points in all 11 of the MotoGP races so far in 2020.

Only one of the three MotoGP rookies has previously won at Valencia in the smaller classes: Brad Binder won in Moto2 last year and in Moto3 in 2016. However, Alex Marquez has had two podiums: third in 2014in Moto3 on his way to his first title, and third in 2018 in Moto2.In addition, Iker Lecuona took his maiden podium in Valencia, finishing second in Moto2 in 2018, his best result to date in Grand Prix racing.
