MotoGP, VIDEO - Pernat: "For Dovizioso it’s almost impossible to win the World Championship"

"The problem is the two races in Valencia, the Suzukis are favourites. I don't know if we will see Marc Marquez on track this year and I can understand his decision."

After the Aragon Grand Prix, Carlo Pernat was the protagonist of our live broadcast (the full video can be found above, including the final joke) to comment on the Spanish race won by Rins, with Alex Marquez back on the podium and Mir now in the lead of the World Championship.

Dovizioso is still in the fight for the championship, but the Italian manager has more than a few doubts about his chances.

“The problem will be the two Valencia races which for him and for Ducati will be a minefield. I’m rooting for Dovizioso, but for him I see it as hard, if not impossible, to win the World Championship. The Suzukis will be more at an advantage on that track. If Rins hadn’t made a few too many cock-ups, he would be ahead in the standings, up there with Mir” was his opinion.

This is once more turning out to be a season in which it is still difficult to predict what is going to happen and Pernat has his own idea as to why.

"They are racing in unusual temperatures: at Jerez it was 40 ° and now it is very cold - he explained - In my opinion this is a discriminating factor, it is a strange championship because there are always three consecutive races and they race in the wrong periods. This carries a lot of weight. In a normal championship, the problems of adapting to the new tyres would have already been overcome by everyone at this point ”.

He also made a comment on Alex Marquez and Honda…

"Alex's riding style is different from Marc's, it means that Honda is working to adapt its bike to various styles - said Carlo - At Aragon there were 3 Hondas in the top 8, so maybe they no longer need Dovizioso as a test rider ”.

Still on the subject of Marquez, Pernat has some doubts about whether we will see Marc on track this year...

“I say that Marc will not return to Valencia. Why should he risk crashing on a track where it will be very cold? If this year he did not race, I would understand his decision" he said.
