Five in the paddock tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 during the two San Marino Grand Prix weekends. The news was released by Il Resto del Carlino newspaper. Three engineers and two technicians from Dorna, all asymptomatic, are quarantined at the Hotel Royal in Cattolica.
All staff participating in the World Championship are constantly subjected to swabs, and only a negative result allows access to the paddock. KTM engineer Jarno Polastri, one of the five who tested positive, left a statement with the Corriere di Bologna newspaper: "I just had a second swab and am awaiting for the result. I hope it’s negative. I discovered I was positive when I arrived in Misano,” he explained.
The others found out they were positive after the first Misano Grand Prix.
