MotoGP, Rossi: "The podium? The race lasted one lap too many. I’ll try again.”

“We found something in the tests that will help me.” Vinales: “I’m comfortable with Yamaha’s innovations. Good times without pushing to the limit.”

MotoGP: Rossi:

Valentino Rossi just missed what would have been his 200th podium in the premier class last Sunday at Misano and, this weekend, he’ll have the opportunity for a rematch on the same track.

Like the other MotoGP riders, he was also busy yesterday for a day of testing that was productive for him.

“I’m happy there’s another race here in Misano,”  the Doctor said. “I was close to the podium last week, but the race lasted one lap too long. We did a lot of laps yesterday during the test, and we found something positive that might help us be faster this weekend. I still want to fight for the podium, but the level is very high, and we’re all very close in the championship. We’ll do I’ll best.”

The San Marino GP had didn’t go that well for Vinales who, after dominating in qualifying, ended up struggling in the race. The tests could also be the key to a better weekend for the Spanish riders.

The sensations I had during the tests were really positive,”  Maverick stated. “I’ve been fast on both the medium and soft tires, so we’ll definitely try these options again next weekend. Yesterday we tried some new features on the bike, and I felt really comfortable. I had good times without having to push to the limit and that’s positive.  But  we weren’t able to test these new features in the same conditions we had in the race, with a lot of the Moto2 tires on the asphalt, so we’ll have to wait and see. Anyhow, I’ll go back to pushing 100%, so I can start from the front to make sure I have the best chance of having a good race.”
