Yamaha is not the only thing in common between Fabio Quartararo and Jorge Lorenzo, according to Wilco Zeelenberg - in an interview with motogp.com - the man who in the past worked closely with the Majorcan for a long time and is now the team manager of Petronas, the home of the French rider.

For the Dutch manager, one major point of similarity between the two is their riding style. It was said that Lorenzo used butter and a hammer to ride, two terms that have entered the collective imagination.

“Butter is a term created by Jorge - said Zeelenberg - It means a fluid and beautiful style, you didn't realize how fast he went, and Fabio also rides like that. He doesn't make mistakes and that was a very important thing for Jorge. He could win a race, but if he made a mistake, he would get mad at himself because he wanted to be precise and he used the hammer to impose a high pace. That's what Fabio did in Jerez ”.

The two riders, however, are also very different from the point of view of character, in their approach to the Grands Prix.

“Jorge was more introverted, very focused on himself, instead Fabio is extrovert - explained Wilco - Lorenzo was in his bubble. Outside the races he was a different person, but on Friday, Saturday and Sunday he was focused on himself. Quartararo is different, he likes to play, joke with us, even before the race ”.
