MotoGP, Rossi after FP1: "At Brno not much grip, working on balance"

Valentino 8th: "The choice of tyres will be important". Vinales 5th after a crash: "…but we started better than last year"

MotoGP: Rossi after FP1:

There was a lot of anticipation to see if Yamaha's performances, and especially Valentino Rossi's, were confirmed at Jerez even on a different track. The first free practice session in Brno gave the first indications.

The Doctor finished the session in 8th place, but without using hard tyres, both front and rear.

"The conditions were difficult, because the track did not yet have great grip in FP1, but we are working hard - his comment - We have to find the right balance of the bike, and the choice of tyres will also be very important because the decision is still open. ".

Maverick Vinales started the weekend with a crash at turn 13, but any complications were ruled out at the medical centre. The Spaniard, back on his M1, set the 5th time.

“The sensations on the bike are very good - said Maverick - I made a small mistake and crashed, maybe I pushed too hard at the start of the session. But I immediately felt good with the bike and we have to maintain this momentum. The second lap I did with the second bike was already incredible. I already feel so good and in shape. I tried to keep the pace and it was pretty good. I'm quite excited because it looks like we started a lot better than last year on this track, and we were pretty fast, especially in FP3. We have to keep working. I'm really happy, but I'm curious to see what we can do in FP2 with warmer conditions and how the bike will work ”.
