SBK, Razgatlioglu: "The championship isn't over, I'm getting important points"

"In the Superpole, my R1 had an electronic problem, it was a real shame. I like Portima. We'll see if I'll still be on the podium."

SBK: Razgatlioglu:

The first weekend of the Superbike after the break caused by the Coronavirus gave us three exciting races with the victories of Scott Redding in Race 1 and 2, and the success of the world champion, Jonathan Rea, in the Superpole Race. A double third place, however, for Yamaha with Toprak Razgatlioglu who, in the sprint race this morning, was forced to withdraw due to a problem with his R1.Toprak. What happened in the Superpole Race?

"I had an electronic problem with gas management,"  the Turkish rider, who went to the press room for interviews after Race 2, told. "It was a real shame."

Redding leads the championship ahead of Rea, while you're 4th at -22 from Scott's Ducati. How will you face the Portimao weekend, given the situation in the standings?

"The championship is not over.  I'm in a good position, and I'm getting important points. Portimao is a difficult track. I like it a lot, and  I had a great time during the testss. We'll see if I can get on the podium again and maybe do even better than this weekend."

What is the outcome of your weekend? Are two podiums still a good result?

“Yes, today I wanted to try a new set-up but it didn't go well.  In Race 2, I rode my best only after passing Rea.  I got a nice podium and got some some important points. It was a difficult race. I slipped a lot, and I had to always open the throttle very gently."
