Superbike meets up again with one of its star protagonists at Jerez (and also an old acquaintance from the past). We are clearly talking about Marco Melandri. After nine months of absence, the Romagna rider will be back in action in the production-based series riding the Ducati V4 of the Barni team.

For the occasion, Marco will have to make do without undoubtedly pleasant company… in the voluptuous shape and form of Manuela Raffaetà, always a fixed presence in the paddock by his side. Due to the Anti-COVID norms, which limit the access of those working at the track, the Romagna rider’s wife cannot be in Jerez, and neither will little Marty, the daughter of the couple. Both therefore will have to settle for watching Marco in action on TV.

Despite the absence, on his Instagram profile, Marco wanted to send a special message to his wife on her birthday: "I’ve spent a day looking for words but I still haven't found them… When I was a child, I wondered what the woman to be by my side all my life would have been like…As soon as I found her, I said to myself, she’s ‘a lot of stuff’, however ... in a few years she'll also fade ... Now 15 years later you're even better ... who knows at 50 what you will become if it goes on like this ... Joking aside I'm really lucky to have a Yes woman by my side like you my love, live for our princess and for me, seeing you in miniature in Marty but with my expressions is so funny, I'm just sorry you are not with me on yet another new adventure but I feel you in my heart. Happy Birthday my love"
