Fabio Quartararo will have to stand still in the pits for 20 minutes tomorrow morning at the start of the first free practice session. The French rider and Petronas team yesterday appealed against the FIM Steward Panel decision to penalize him for using an R1 not complying with the regulations to train on Paul Ricard circuit.

The team and Fabio were heard last night, from 6.15pm to 7pm, and they admitted, as before, that Quartararo actually used the bike with the contested modifications, but they also explained that it was a simple mistake on their part, with no intention of gaining any advantage. For this reason have requested a different penalty.

Franck Vayssié and Miguel Angel Rodriguez, the two Stewards in charge of the appeals, saw no reason to change the penalty and confirmed the decision taken earlier, thus rejecting the appeal.

This judgment is final and no further appeal is possible.
