Today was a training day at Misano also for Johann Zarco. Avintia’s French rider took advantage of the track booked by Ducati for this three-day test to ride with the Panigale V4, assisted by his MotoGP crew chief Marco Rigamonti. Zarco is fully concentrated on the first races of this season as they will be decisive for his future.
"I will have to wait a few races, and then I will understand my situation better - Johann said to Sky Sport - The only place left in the official Ducati team is that of Dovizioso, and I know I have a good chance if Dovi decides to stop" .
The agreement between Dovizioso and Ducati, in fact, has not yet been signed and negotiations are proceeding slowly especially regarding the economic part of the deal. For Ducati, however, the man from Forlì is the first choice.
“He is important for the manufacturer because he is a rider who can get on the podium in every race, and that is the job of an official team. I am regaining my confidence, I need it to go fast, we will see how it goes ”.
Another solution for Zarco would be to move to the Pramac team, which for 2021 will be without Jack Miller and with Bagnaia not yet sure of getting a ride.
“I want to stay with Ducati - continued the Frenchman - I still don't know what will happen with Avintia, but the transition to Pramac is possible. They have the official team bike; I could take Jack's place and keep my team with Rigamonti. We will understand better after a few races, I still have to wait "
