The brightest ‘edelweiss’ of the world championship is gone; at 91 years of age Sante Mazzarolo, founder of Alpinestars, one of Italy's most famous brands, has passed.

As a leather craftsman Sante Mazzarolo was able to develop a company, located between Asolo and Maser, which currently ranges from Los Angeles to Tokyo and is no longer just motocross and speed, but has also arrived in F1.

Design and technology, because Sante Mazzarolo was the inventor of a specific boot for our sport. More than just a shoe, it was actually total protection, but with comfort and design.

"Today, on Workers' Day, Maser loses an entrepreneur of great capacity, human depth, and authentic faith," declared the mayor Claudia Benedos.

Sante leaves his wife Dolly and his three children: the tireless Gabriele, whom all of us meet regularly at the race-tracks, capable of moving from one day to the next between America, Asia and Europe, Lucia and Gloria also involved in the company.

The condolences of GPOne.com go out to the Mazzarolo family and the Alpinestars community. A great entrepreneur has left us, but his legacy lives on.
